I've spent the festive season playing Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim with guns Smile Looks a bit janky but solid story.

If your playing on PC then get the mod "JSawyer Ultimate Edition". It originally was made by one of the lead game designers and makes the game harder/ adds a bunch of tweaks they didn't have time for. It's on of my favourite games, but I don't think I'd ever play it without mods Laughing

Downloaded Terminator Resistance couple of days ago. The game itself looks pretty good when checking out the YouTube playthroughs, but what sold it was Infiltrator mode where you play a t800 out to kill a resistance leader. Lots of fun playing on Skynet's side.

Like Skyrim there's loads of "this mod list works" sites. I've gone with Viva New Vegas (with includes JSawyer) plus some texture packs & LOD fixes. So far it's only crashed playing through one of the DLCs.

Got to the end of the main plot line last night with the usual Skyrim winner (stealth/sniper build) now trying to think of the next build, maybe have a go at the Hardcore mode.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) - 9/10

I played all the Ratchet & Clank games on PSP and PS4, always enjoyed them, so I decided to give the PS5 version a go (yes, it was 30% off). There are many new game mechanics, very improoved graphics and no loading times with perfect transistions between the story cut sceens and gameplay.

Otherwise the core gameplay is the same which is a good thing. I'm also impressed with the ray tracing in this game. Clank looks amazing with all the real time reflections on his/its metal body. You can either choose RT+4K@30Hz, RT+1440p@60Hz or no RT+1800p@60Hz (there's even 120fps mode). I use the RT+1440p@60Hz option and the game runs and looks great. The RT+4K@30Hz option looks almost like a Pixar film, but I just can't get over the low frame rate in an action shooter/platformer game.

EDIT: Finished, platinum trophy. Thumbs Up

a surprisingly good game. would recommend.

Adding this to the "fuck all else to do in between Christmas and New Year so I'll give it a shot" list now along with Skyrim.

Completed it yesterday, I went for a kill-half-of-everyone playthrough, I was just doing it to have fun and get the story done. I am not going to bother re-playing it for all the alternative endings, I will just watch them on YouTube.

Just started playing 'Control' after it was free on Epic game store. Trippy, but actually very compelling. We shall see where things go with this!

Currently downloading this.. [6.6Gb]

https://repacklab.com/crysis-free-download/

It's been a few PC's since I last played this.
Bought a CD of this years ago, not sure where that went to.

I did install Chrysis2 after having to sign up to ES's 'Origin' (ES's download manager). Not using it again, not sure how much I paid for it, but apparently you don't own the games anyway.

Always nice to unwind on a FPS.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5) - 8.5/10

It starts well, gets great, then a bit tedious and repetitive, but with a great ending. All that with good combat system, very well written story and dialogues, great soundtrack and interactions between the team members. The visuals are very nice. The game also gives you choices that affect the gameplay and story line, however sometimes it's only an illusion and picking up the wrong choice results in reloading the last checkpoint.

That being said, solid 8.5/10. The game also runs in 1080p@60Hz, or 4K@30Hz, or even close to 4K@30Hz with ray tracing that isn't really well implemented anyway, so I played it in 1080p@60Hz.

I also enjoyed it. You can tell quite immediately it is a Remedy game. It reminded me of both Alan Wake and Quantum Break, with a hint of a Max Payne.

Fuck it, just watched the second season of the Witcher on Netflix so dusted off Witcher 3. A welcome relief from the jankiness of New Vegas Smile

Yawn of duty Vanguard.

It's shit. The single player is boring, buggy and boring. I got it half price in the Christmas sale. It's a £9.99 game max. This will be the last one that I buy.

Last one I bought was COD5. Had been a fan ever since COD1.

Call of Duty: United Offensive is definately still my go to multiplayer action!

There is a "plot" to it, but each chapter is more of the same. Run around and kill people without getting shot up too much yourself.

An on-line game called 'torment the donk'. It seems to randomly respawn though.
