I went to visit Nowhere Elysium recently, and as I was coming into an unfamiliar part of Brum, there were some scrotes on peds coming into my space at lights a few times. I was lucky in that they either were not the jacking types, or I fucked off sharpish enough, probably this as the blade goes quicker than peds.

Regardless on long trips someone who isn't me has a large knife under the tank cover easily accessible, and has recently purchased some MX body armour to wear under leathers to hopefully negate any stabby/kicky action. I hear he also sleeps with knuckles and a bat because of the proximity of the ethnic crime area which results in a lot of theft, violence and burglary of late. (Two households of all girl students have been subject to violent burglary in the last two weeks)

I know of two people who have been jacked in my local area, one of whom had a knife stuck in his thigh and kicked off the bike for it to be stolen. While I'm a rather handy fighty type, I have no illusions that it would go pretty wrong if I tried to fight off a group, but it's possible I could leave identifiable wounds in a jacker. Although with the state of Nottingham's teenage knife crime it wouldn't identify one local shitbag from another.

Well, good news, they robbed another sportsballer.

So now the Blue Thunder of the Met will actually rouse itself into action, and they'll get two-digit year sentences instead of one-digit days.

Used to say the same when I lived in Sidcup. When the papers reported good news, it was Sidcup, Kent. When it was a stabbing it was Sidcup, South East London.

My money is on him being jacked at the BP near Johns of Romford.

Fun fact - I worked for John (of Romford) when I was 16/17 as a Saturday boy at Castle Sports Motorcycles at Dagenham
Heathway, which years later was renamed Johns of Romford Honda Centre.

I bought my first road legal bike from Castle Sports, a 1982, kickstart only, CG125 with fully enclosed chain guard. Still got the HP paying in book pinned on my garage wall, I paid £51.13 a month apparently.

Probably stole it from someone who'd stole it in the first place because Erdington.

I look forward to the reduction in this recent epidemic.

Were Big Chris (6 foot 11/ 22stone) and Little Chris (Balding, twitchy disposition, glasses, skinny and bearded) working there then?

I have no recollection of any of the staff there, which is odd as I must have gone there quite a lot over the years.

I can remember the dwarf spares man at Grimsteads on the A12, but that was many many years later and I had to talk sternly to my little boy before we went in to collect some bits as he was very into Snow White at the time and I was worried what he would say.

Is curious but the article lacks the oh so vital detail as to why the female company is so young.

Probably both bored chavs all the same.

That sounds like a lot? Was HP less generous then or was it a shorter term? A CB125f costs £69 p/m over 3 years.

It was over one year, my first ever finance, no idea if it was overpriced at the time, the bike was secondhand, but only just. But you can't tell a teenager anything can you!!

My next bike (brand new this time), from Johns of Romford at Rush Green cost me £999, XS250SE. This was an awful bike (but you can't tell a teenager anything can you!!) which lasted about 7 months before being part exed against a CX500.

Would suggest we dig deep and have a big response to this:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=322343&highlight=

Southwark council consultation on ground anchors. If they get enough response to push on with it then hopefully others will go the same way.
