Paranoia, in a word (makes it harder for people to find what route I was on).

Labour MP #VictimBlames petrol stations, demands that they don't sell to 'suspicious' riders.

Because, as we all know, there's nothing that pump monkeys love more than to put their own earnings on the line by pre-authorising a sale to an unplated crosser with three balaclava-wearing bipedal rats hanging off of it.

If we can only cut off the fuel supply of bike thieves, they'll have no option but to give up their shenanigans. There's no other way that they can obtain it, of course, because that would be unlegal.

Thinking I think there may be a flaw in this otherwise very stable genius plan.

It's a re-annoucement and ranted about earlier.

Unless Parliament actually alters the statute (not the "rules", not the "regulations"), nothing will change. The "Minister for Policing" is an irrelevant non-entity, and is just showboating.

The Home Office consultation says "we have seen how criminals' perception of well-intentioned local guidance around pursuing motorcycle riders not wearing crash helmets has contributed to an increase in motorcycle-related crime, particularly in London".

Pretty much my reading of the situation.

Good men and true.

Just a shame that they didn't put the one that they caught into a fatal restraint position, so he'll be out on bail by now.

Awaiting the day when I get to be a Have A Go Hero.

Al Beeb's top tips: "avoid wearing heels to and from work, and instead invest in some roll-up flats for the commute".

Not a parody. At least, not intentionally.

Step 1: Don't live in London.

Sure, the #VictimBlaming continues apace.

Ah, but, "In May, police recorded 1,154 incidents in which a scooter, moped or motorcycle was used to commit a crime, a fall of more than 55% since July 2017 when 2,593 offences were recorded"

Which isn't necessarily the same as reported, or occurred.

Fudge me, they're really proud of those 4 "slimline" F700GSes, aren't they. Rolling Eyes

Another day in London, the 2nd of June to be specific:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5818031/moped-thugs-threaten-driver-hammer-knife-jumping-bonnet-robbery.html

Luckily, robust action is being taken to disrupt stabby stabby yoots as "Anti-knife metal detectors were in place at a busy London Tune [sic] station as police continued their crackdown on the gang violence that has plagued the capital.

Travellers are [sic] Vauxhall, south London, walked through the arches to get to their trains under the watchful eye of a police officer."

AND

"As well as stations, knife arches we installed at branches of McDonalds in Croydon and Woolwich.

In Croydon, the knife arch was set up temporarily in the restaurant's doorway for two hour periods."
