Hi folks,
So, I've fitted a manual CCT to my GSXR. From all the instructions I've followed I've still got a bit of slap. Now, I've got the rocker cover off, have tension on the chain, but when rotating the engine there is slack in one section yet pretty tight elsewhere else, noticeably slack just before top dead centre on the crank, which goes against what I've read - where TDC should be the slackest point and the point to which you adjust. I'm reluctant to tighten further in case of issues but thought I'd get consistent tension when rotating not tight on compression and slack on de-compression. Is this sounding like a stretched chain, should i tighten at the slackest point to 1/4in of movement as advised by manufacturer, surely this will only make the tighter sections even tighter to the point of potential issues, slow to turn over then worse etc... Cheers, Mark |

an update. I went down the rocker cover off routine and followed the instructions to the letter. All works perfectly until the bike gets to around 60 degrees and then it begins to become noisy again?? so no worse but no better at the same time... when placing a screw driver to the right top side of the engine to listen for the noise it still certainly sound local to that area.... cheers. |
