Do you think a derbi senda drd r is a good first bike for a 16 year old.

It's a geared 50cc without fairings, so a better choice than things like the RS50. I don't consider it worth buying new with learner bikes as it will get dropped and with a shiney expensive new bike it will have a greater financially impact than on an older one.

It might be only be at £820, but it hasn't met the reserve price and in the advert they talk about RRP being in excess of £2000 so would expect the reserve to be about £2000. Also they charge you £75 extra for it to be registered and £100 for delivery. Wonder what other bits they'll charge you for, tax etc etc. And its a new user on eBay with 0 feedback so would be quite careful.

Thanks you have been a lot of help Thumbs Up. One other thing, do you think as it does not have road tyres on it that it would not ride well on the road.

Road tyres (ones without lots of knobbly bits) are generally better on the roads, but the ones on that bike will still offer plently of grip.

I'd be willing to say thats a scam. For one, its the Senda-R and not the Super Motard. Also the guy has no feedback and is a new user. The description follows the same pattern as other scams.

Check bike trader for an older model (much cheaper) and stay clear from that auction.

I agree with Ste, its not worth getting a brand new 50cc.

True. They seem to have got the name of that bike a bit wrong. How can it be a gilera and a derbi, surely its just a derbi senda drd r.

I looked on ebay again. and there are two of the exact same bike on ebay, same picture same description, exactly the same. Apart from its a different user name for the person whos selling it. that seems a bit strange to me. Take a look for yourself.
