I'm trying to get the butt-stop off my seat for more leg room.

These three screws hold it in place. One came off very easily, but the other two are just spinning freely.
There's little room to get behind them to try and get a grip on the thread as they're recessed. The depth is around the same size as the length of the bolt.
On the other side, between the stop and the seat, there's no room to fit needlenose pliers to try and hold the stem.

I'd like to re-use this again maybe one day. Or if I ever sell the bike, then I'd like to reattach it, so I'd prefer not to maul the shit out of it.

Any ideas?

First clean the bolts with a wire brush. Are the bolts badly corroded? I they are apply a few drops of white vinegar to the threads and allow to soak in. You couls use penetrating oil. Brake fluid is a brilliant penetrating oil but avoid getting it on paintwork. Put a spanner on the nut, and sharply tap it round with a light hammer. If there is thread projecting beyond the nut, try gripping it with pliers, being careful not to damage the threads.

are there any other holes that would give you access to the back side of the seat, where the holes are? that would be my first port of call.

another option would be to dremel the nuts off, and just replace them in future? go down one side of the thread, then they'll come off, leaving you with just three nuts to replace.

Thanks for the replies.
I think that's the route which I might have to take. I had a look at nut breakers, but I don't think it'll fit in that recess enough to get a grip.
If I can find someone with a Dremel to borrow then I'll have a crack at slicing it in half.
