Never heard of him before but just read the link. Fuck me, her survives blasting around a track at 180mph but dies on a poxy pedal bike. Poor bloke. It's like these WW2 veterans surviving 6 years of brutal fighting only to get run over after the war by a bus.

Life is stupid (and short).

Stuff like this often makes me think of blokes like Ronnie Smith - TT racer by trade, gets taken out by van on way for milk while riding an rs50.

I don't ride motorbikes any more (and at the risk of flames never really did, unless 50cc's count) but I still cycle, and almost every time I go out there's an FML moment.

RIP Nicky Hayden.
