hey guys
I've been trying to get this started for a while. It turns over now but has no spark. I have a gs400 manual but it hasn't got the correct wiring diagram in it for cdi ignition.

Where should i start trying to get a spark ?

I take it have a multimeter.
You start at the plugs and work your way back after you checked fuses.
Just because there's tow plugs don't assume there fine, put them in a HT lead of the GT550 and check.

I take it that it doesn't have a kill switch.?

I can't see wiring diagram you posted.
Here is a link that is a sticky in this part of BCF that could help you a lot .

One thing I noticed, when the ignition is on
Theres voltage on the - side of the left coil but nothing on the + side.

On the right ignition coil there is voltage on both - and +

Is this a fault ?

I think i've ruled out the pick up coils and rectifier now.
