Hi guys,

I'm looking for a waterproof bluetooth speaker that I can mount on my Burgman (1999). It'll need to be low profile as I am limited to space - either on the middle of the handlebars or on top of the dashboard, between the windscreen.
I want to be able to remove it a lot, so that I can charge it and so I can take it with me when I leave the bike (I'm thinking velcro strips on the bike and the speaker - but I'm open to better ideas.)
It needs to be loud enough so that I can hear it, but I don't want everyone within a mile radius hearing me coming.

I know naff all about the who's who of speakers, so could anyone recommend something that might fit the bill? I'll check out reviews and what-not after.
Bear in mind that the reason my Burgman is a 1999 is because I don't have much money, so I don't want to chuck loads at an idea which may well fail. If it does, I'll have a speaker to use for BBQs and that anyway.

The source will be Spotify streamed through my Oneplus 3.

Cheers.

Why don't you get the type that goes in your helmet ! I have a system that allows me to stream Radio, and music (spotify) and connect to the phone so if I get a call I can talk as well

Sell the Burgman and get a Lexmoto Venom, yo.

Headphones into phone and headphones under jacket into helmet.

Removing speakers sounds like a faff. Pre-ride routine is long enough, no idea about yours. Sounds like you want to make your bike into a car.

Inevitable to me that everyone around you will hear more of it than you will because wind noise etc.

I considered this and made a thread about it a while back. There was mixed responses and I'd rather not cut off one of my senses, to be fair.

I'm quite happy with my Burgman. I've no idea why you'd (NJD) want me to get a Lexmoto anything. My Burg is a 400.
And while I appreciate that it isn't a car, it is my only form of daily transport as the missus does the school run and needs the car every day. We can't afford two.

I've been looking at things like the UE Boom series which are cylindrical, so I was thinking of putting velcro straps on the top of the dashboard which wrap around the speaker, holding it in place. I'm thinking that it would take about five seconds to unvelcro, place speaker and wrap - similar to how the tool kits are strapped in on some bikes' underseat storage.

I used to have a bike with built in speakers, and to be honest you had to have the volume at a level to hear while on the move, but when you pull up at lights etc every one was looking where the noise was coming from

Like you I have a Burgman 400 and set up the volume at a level that is acceptable, and can still hear other things going on, and if you ride out with palls you can talk via the system.

Admitting not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, but look at "Interphone"

Sorry for not being familiar with every model's niche features. After all, it was a really good joke and I totally missed it.

Thanks for the advice. And while I take it on board, I'm still wanting to give the bluetooth speaker thing a go because it would be handy to have one anyway. My current portable speaker was a hand-me-down and is 3.5mm. I could do with the upgrade.
I don't want to use the phone features of my phone and I all of my mates drive, not ride. I prefer driving too, but I need the bike for the commute.
