|
|
So after 3+ years of back pain my GP very reluctantly referred me for an MRI scan. The scan shows a bulged disc (second from bottom apparently) pressing on a nerve. Being referred to a specialist but I'm just wondering if anyone speaks doctor and/or has experience of something similar:

New disc needed.
Might as well do the pads while you're at it. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I'm quite possibly suffering from something similar myself. I don't actually know, because I've never had the follow-up treatment/examination that I should have had to find out. I was too busy moving house etc. And, I really don't want to see the inside of any more hospitals!
I think I busted ribs at the same time, and suspect they haven't healed properly this time too, aggravating matters. I'm an idiot really ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

They can get it this wrong?! (if wrong it turns out to be). ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I've been refereed to physio a few times (probably 20+ sessions in total) over the last few years, the physio even said I might have a bulged disc the last time, but they still didn't want to give me a scan. Got to think it would have cheaper to diagnose the problem properly. |

I was in a similar situation, back pain/sciatica/leg cramps over a number of years. Had a really bad episode last year where I couldn't even pee properly so they finally decided to send me for a MRI
The specialist did suggest surgery was an option, but recommended against it as he said it could actually cause more damage
He said if the symptoms got bad I could have injections, and suggested a course of physio
I haven't had a big issue since I got the results last November although I do still get bad cramps in my calves, which also reminds me, I'm overdue for my review and need to book an appointment |
Interesting about the leg cramps, I had the same thing. If they recommend more physio I'll probably lose it, it's a load pseudo BS.

Yep, the body's like an motorbike except you can't change any bits, you've gotta look after it |
