Hi everyone. Long time visitor first time poster.
I am having problems with my Yamaha szr660, it keeps running fine for awhile. Then it starts by dying little by little, first by a simple cough. Revving works for a while, but after a while it cuts out entirely.

I am not a complete imbecilic when it come to the bike, and have recently adjusted the valve-clearance and cleaned the carbs.

Sounds like it could be a fuel flow issue, after/while this happens try opening the fuel tank if you can hear a hiss of air and the bike runs ok again you may have a blocked tank breather.

Does it have a Prime setting on the fuel tap? Try that see if it 'fixes' the issue. If so you'll need to look at your fuel tap.

If that doesn;t work try draining some of the tank into something. Make sure the fuel is flowing properly.

If that is fine then I've be looking at plugs leads coils. If you haven't changed the plug(s) in a while I'd do that first as it is quick and cheap.

If that isn't the case try draining the fuel from that
