The shipping part of my ex company, S*e*l Transport and Trading, had absolutely no reason to have offices in the city but they did, in the Strand of all the expensive places they could.
It was all for show. Look at us, look where we work. And then they they penny pinch the fleet to save money.
It's all show off bollocks nowadays with the communications available. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Is that the official trade term or just the current tabloid moniker freshly produced from the recent barbeque?
I hate to defend some political animal I probably despise, but it's possible he might have been briefed beforehand by an advisor, and had a brain fart on air, and the specific info he was hoping he'd remembered had just disappeared into the ether, right at the point when he needed it. He maybe, probably, might be frantically fluffing a response hoping he could remember specifically what the fuck he was supposed to say, hence the fuzzy answer. ____________________ Prize cunt

Fair enough, you might think. But the guy I knew in there had just gone through a divorce and had stretched his borrowing already. He had no choice but to beg, borrow and steal £12K to meet the demands of the council.
Did these privately owned ones get the "upgrade" for free, I wonder? In fact, did they have a say in the spec of the material used? Wasn't some MP hung out to dry for saying the residents wouldn't accept the disruption of a sprinkler system being fitted?
I love how the hardcore left are pushing this all on the Tories. I suspect the blame lies at many levels all the way up the chain, but like Hillsborough, the pubic have already decided who's at fault from day one and the enquiry will go on until they get the result they desire. |
Now, I take the piss out of Scousers as much as the next for being sponging cunts (I work in Liverpool, in an area which is the scouse equivalent of Tower Hamlets, probably), but weren't the wonderful, never do anything wrong, 5-0 responsible for LYING about the events?
The ALMO, and indirectly, the council, who are responsible for signing the work off. |
And big nose, the mayor of London is angry and passing the buck. What a surprise. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

How is it his fault? He's as much to blame as you are, more than likely. ____________________ Mpd72: I can categorically say i’m Brighter than that, no matter how I come across on here.

Yes, it gets all boring when someone can't do satire because the truth is so satirical in itself. You don't like it do you.

May's idea of falling on her sword would be to impale three better politicians before she hit the floor and rolled. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

WHY do the stupidly rich CHOOSE to live in central London? I know that a lot of the recent development is used as hedges for foreign investors (why?), but there are a large number with actual residences in central London. You can't drive, park, walk, breath fresh air. You live cheek to jowl in area more crowded than the old slums in Salford. Rates, sky high, not that it probably matters to 'them'. Why? Just... WHY? |
Because other places are cookie cutter town centres filled with chain stores and mediocre services.
If your preferred pleasures in life involve civilisation, you want to live in a dense area. If you prefer the outdoors, city life won't appeal.
I'm not stupidly rich, but paid well enough to enjoy most of London, and for me it's about 50% fine dining and excellent wine, 20% well-compensated work, 10% niche consumption / shops you can't find anywhere else, and 10% other entertainment, whether it's festivals, theatre, exhibitions etc., and 10% energy - just the energy of the streets, most people here are from somewhere else, ambitious to achieve things. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4
