Unless it says otherwise half all sentences. It's how you can get done for murder and be back on the street again in 9 years having done your time and paid your debt to society. It's a wonderful thing the UK justice system.

Plus, non-violent crime makes you a shoe in for early release every time the gaols fill right up and they have to let thousand out of the revolving door just to make room.

Not deported because... ?

Wonder what Stormzy as too say about this, being as he's the voice of Grenfell.

You can get one hour fire doors without looking too far for them. But as a buyer I would offset that cost against the
inevitable cost of replacement after a Police raid because tower block innit, full of wrong uns. No point fitting top
quality doors just for the old bill to smash up. Good doors would also take longer to break into through, a delay in
access by the Police just gives them more time to flush the drugs.

No thanks, I prefer neighbours who pay for their things. Makes them less likely to steal mine and a bit keener
to keep the place in general reasonably tidy. You can spot the social housing round here just by how the property is being
kept. Usually have a (free) brand new roof and windows, yet happy to store a couple of tip runs worth of rubbish in the front
garden, old childrens ride on toys and broken furniture, that kind of thing. Stand out like a sore thumb they do.
I can never figure this out, if you had all day free to tidy up why would you live in such a mess? I get the hump
when a crisp packet blows into my front garden, and I'm straight out there to pick it up and bin it.
Here, if you are in receipt of benefits, a quick call to the council or filling an online form and they will collect it and dispose
of it for free. But even that's too much trouble for some. I'd have to pay £30 for this service btw, but wouldn't need it
because I take things to the tip myself when they are surplus to requirements rather than stack it up outside
somewhere nice and prominent and instead just look at it for months or years on end.

No, wasn't Grenfell social housing mainly? And apparently, a really shitty area too? Round here, the shitty areas get all the money spent on parks and renovations etc, the 'nicer' estates get fuck all.

They would get the bare minimum to be up to Social housing standards at the time. We used to stock half hour fire doors when I
was on the Stores section of London Borough Of Barking and Dagenham. At the time, that was the minimum standard for
fire doors in blocks of flats etc. I expect that the minimum standard is higher these days, but has there been a retrofit
to bring already fitted older doors up to modern spec? Can't imagine that's a priority for many councils tbh. Although
that view may have changed in light of the free for all Grenfest, where it appears you can claim you drove past it once on
a warm day and become immediately entitled to moar gibs with next to no background checks, bonus gibs if you can reliably
con people that you 'no speakee' and were 'berry berry scared'. I don't do HMO properties so the whole fire door rules thing
isn't really on my radar. CBA with fire escapes and all that extra guff just to stay the right side of the law and they make a
property look like a premises rather than a home..

New bathrooms, kitchens, doors etc. every 5(?) years round here.

Well, I say round here, I mean in the slum areas.

We recently got a new bathroom (thanks everyone Wub). The old one was older than me. And on the rubbish thing, the housing association properties get rubbish collections, we don't. They used to have skips but people kept coming from off the estate to dump their rubbish (so much for taking it to the tip), so now they have small bins which regularly overflow (attracting vermin and coachroaches).

But as usual don't let any of this challenge your preconceptions Thumbs Up
