As above...
Used to zip tie phone to yoke... fun fun when the map goes sideways on roundabouts .
Now just headphones and audio do the job |

Waterproof and readable in daylight, the original Pebble is a good watch - you can pick up second hand ones quite cheaply, but they are only £38 new ;-

Used Google maps on a mobile last year in Europe, which seemed to work ok mostly, as long as the route was kept simple. Had the phone in the tank bag, and earphones in for audio. The Garmin I have now, paired with bluetooth, is better I think, but expensive if you're not going to use it often. Paper maps are better still if avoiding complex towns and cities. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

For avoiding towns, a map and signs works.
For finding a specific road the same is true.
For finding a hotel in a city at night, it's nice being told left or right |
