I believe you may be misconstruing your memes.

When I changed my address at the local post office they took some scissors to my old card and posted off my freshly taken photo to be used with my new licence. I didn't worry about them removing things from it; partially because I didn't know that it can actually happen, but also because I've only got the regular car licence* so there's nothing else there for them to remove unless they expect to send me back a blank licence.

*plus those teasing categories which look as if you've been accidently given a full bike licence until you find out what the number codes mean.

Something to worry about when you finally pass your bike test then...
Who knows, maybe they will take away your entitlement to drive a car? Whistle

It makes you wonder just what sort of back-ups they use for securing people's details. It sounds like they just open a Microsoft Text file, press the backspace key for a couple of seconds too long and say "Did he have an A licence as well or just the car licence? LOL have fun on your CBT......"

I had always assumed they still used floppy disks as a backup method.
The old fragile 8inch ones, and stored them on top of a subwoofer in direct sunlight with an engine block on top.
