Not had much (or any) luck in this area, been trying to sell some parts for a while, some of it's new and some used but it's all well under what other retailers/breakers are wanting.

Is there a knack to it? Do you keep endlessly relisting? How do breakers/parts suppliers do it? Smile

I too struggled to get rid of some stock bits of old bikes I used to own.

Ended up packaging all the bits as a joblot per bike and then priced it to get rid asap. Made less monies but still monies I never had before for what was just junk to me.

From what bike? Is there a model-dedicated forum you could try?

99p no reserve if you want it to sell asap.

If you've got a buy it now price then just keep relisting the item until it sells.

High quality photos are important.

Got any links to your auctions which didn't sell?

I find ebay to be the best option. If you want the best price and can hold onto the item for a while, buy it now is the ideal option. If it's not selling, keep relisting, dropping the price slightly each time until it goes.

This is a badmethod if you're just wanting rid of 1 item, but if you have a clear out of a load of items you want to sell, then say listing 100 items buy it now at reasonable prices is good. Stuff will sell, and the stuff that doesn't you can price drop gradually each time.

Or as Ste says, auction 99p no reserve.

Breakers probably do well, because they're listing 100s of items at a time. So there'll be items that sit for a year, and others that sell quickly. With a steady flow of parts being bought/getting sent out, and the others that don't sitting there, it doesn't really matter (unless space is an issue). They can drop the price of say 50 items that have been sitting around for a while, and some will get bought up.

The MT forum I used to use has (recently) disappeared Sad

Not sure about a 99p auction, seen stuff go stupidly cheap that way. I'll reduce the price a bit when I relist, although I recently bought something for £30, after getting an email saying it had been reduced to £55 (a breaker got a bit too happy with his reductions Smile).
