It won't do 120 in 1st. Or second.

This is for the gen 1 but the gen 2 is similarly geared.

Never mind, you can just skip the first five gears anyway, can't you? Laughing

It's a strange bike, looks wise. I don't like it in the OP's pic. but seen in the flesh I thought they had a certain presence about them.

Interesting chart, thanks. I recon my K8 was nearer to 100 but hey it will pull away from the lights ahead of almost anything, so that will do me! Yes the looks aren't to everyone's taste but to be honest so many modern sports bikes look a bit toy like. I'm a fairly tall bloke so the beefy Busa suits me.

Tall in the body or leg? Leggy guys usually get cramps on a 'busa especially in leathers. Mine used to bunch behind my knees and give me mild cramps after an hour or so riding.

At 6' I find the Busa just right for comfort but I run so my legs are fairly 'seasoned'. I ride mainly in Kevlar denims. I have race leathers but most bikes are less comfy in those. I'm still quite young at 67 but I expect I might find riding more uncomfortable when I'm old! Wink I must admit comfort is not uppermost in my mind when I'm having fun!

It'll do 0-120 in 1 gear. But that gear isn't 1st Wink

Enjoy!

Just coming up to 600 mile 1st service. Blown away at the moment! Have removed inner baffle but left in the rear. Much better sound now. Standard screen is good for air flow but I have to tuck a little to see indicator arrows. Loads of people have told me they like the colour. Only dry ridden at the moment. Hope to enjoy the revs more when the run in is finished. Tyre strips are getting smaller!

It's very shiny and swoopy! Like the colour scheme as well.

Used to have a 2000 Busa, been looking at gen2s recently.

Quite like these although I'm unsure why!? They're quite odd looking but as someone pointed out earlier, they have a certain presence about them.

Nice choice OP Thumbs Up

Lovely colour too.

Nice Thumbs Up I'd prefer gun metal grey , however if you forced me to have red and silver one, I wouldn't complain to much Smile

Current colours are white, black or mid blue. Mine is a 2016 model pre reg no miles when I bought - sort of chose me cos it was loads off new price Laughing . Used you can get virtually any colour Busa, some quite exotic! I'm getting used to the red; it's quite an in your face sort of bike so perhaps plain colours don't do it justice. It is a 20 year old design which perhaps accounts for it's slightly unusual appearance. The Gen 1 owners prefer theirs and with the Gen 3 on the horizon maybe next year, here I am preferring Gen 2! The new bike will have all manner of electronic assistance no doubt. I'm a bit old school, so thought I'd get one before they changed too much Wink .

PS. That big hump is quite useful; I keep a fold up rucksack in mine!

68 soon. I know it's a bit young for a Busa but I could not wait! Wink

I was 68 a month ago - about right for a 10R.
A mate is 81 - and rides a 'Blade.

'Busas look better with the hump removed and the full seat visible.

You can store stuff in the hump! I think they look a bit 'touring' with the passenger seat and grab rail. No, solo Busa for me and the iconic hump in pride of place! Each to their own though.

You can, I cut a square hole in the base of mine and fitted a second battery in it. Others have even put a nitrous bottle in the hump.

Loads or 'em in Cyprus, none of 'em standard though, all have been stretched and a lot have been turboed, they probably don't go round corners anymore!
Over there it is the weapon of choice for the poseur to be seen on, funnily enough never seen one being ridden in anger!

Hope you enjoy it! Thumbs Up

I always thought the hump with a hole in the bottom and a trap door would make for a very good stash spot for running contraband. And let's face it, on a Busa' if you don't want to get caught you probably wouldn't be. Laughing
