I have started getting a problem with my TZR 125. It revs out fine when it is not in gear. it is also fine in the lower gears but in the higher gears sometimes it does not want to rev past 6 of the rev counter, which is obviously restricting the power. The only way around it is by chopping the throttle which is not ideal. I am thinking it could be the main jet clogged up and/or the float level is incorrect...Am I right?

Hi

Possible and worth a try to check. But by chopping the throttle I presume you mean closing it a touch, which drops the needle down and limits flow even more

All the best

Katy

If rolling back the throttle helps at high speed it sounds to be running rich.

That is also the symptom of a main jet too small and running lean.

To determine if it is lean or rich, either check the plug or see if it runs better with the choke on a full throttle.
