And what the hell would the bailiffs do? I live in a shared house where I pay rent.
I had the same situation where i had moved house but not updated the logbook,so never got the fixed penalty for running a red light in my last car.

I live in a shared house as well, and the first i heard about it was when i had baliffs at the door demanding over £700,and that if i ignored it they had the power to break the door down.

You cannot fuck with goverment employed baliff's,they are not like the chancers chasing normal debts,as the £28k i have owed from 2001 shows. You just ignore those. Laughing

If only there was an easy way for the OP to find these things out. Laughing

Of course you can, if you want to go to prison for perjury/perverting the course of justice.

That guy knows, totally sound advice, top bloke and so cool. With the benefit of the doubt, you know the price you pay for ignoring the advice of BCF. Do so at your peril and our entertainment.

It's a shame that videoing court proceedings is still classed as contempt because we'd all enjoy watching the beginings of the anal rapage that ensues due to not signing off 'who was driving?' request...

Isn't that a 'perverting the course of justice' affair? although I guess in reality he's more obstructing than perverting. Thinking

EDIT: I guess I missed Andy_Pagins post Doh!

How is it perverting the course of justice? I have quite a while to decide whether to do 4th year- the unlikely option of quitting my job and going back in Oct is quite real.
The obvious exaggeration of prison here is making me think you're just trying to scare me even with this no reply to the letter thing

...and if I live long enough, I have quite a while to decide whether to become a Microbiologist, but until I get a PHD under my belt, I'm just talking shit.

Everyone is mostly trying to scare you into seeing the truth (and amusing themselves, OK mostly amusing themselves.)

As far as I can tell, the process of receiving an NIP is as follows.

1. Receive NIP
2. Bawwwwww like fuck on BCF about it.
3. Ask how to get away with it.
4. Spit dummy out of pram when you don't get away with it.
5. Pay the fine anyway.

Surely it would be more productive for OP to use the following process.

1. Receive NIP.
2. MTFU and accept that you got caught.
3. Pay the fine and receive points.
4. Stop being a whiny little bitch.

Actually, 39 in a 20 is way above the threshold for prosecution rather than disposal with a FPN, so OP is likely to be given the "opportunity" to show up in court and spin his tale of woe.

The thing's there might be a defence, dependent on repeater signs etc., however the OP normally jumps straight to the worst course of action so what's the point.

Oh and sock.
