I'm still not convinced. So what if they say that, given their track record has proven the opposite and we also don't have a genuine second opinion.

Why are you not convinced about it and why?

What track record has proven the opposite of what exactly?

It is like the Pro-Life argument.

If one ends one's life like a 'Buy One get One free' Parsnip at Tesco what is the quality in that life?

That is the question easily answered.

But some hippies are determined to ignore common sense and fite Mother Nature.

What's the difference between Alfie Evans and Diane Abbott?

One is a brain dead vegetable the other is Alfie Evans.

Not sure if that post is racist or special needs-ist?

It is the Pro-Life argument. Like previous cases, the Christian Pro-Life lobby have used the family to advance their own agenda. Their barrister, Paul Diamond, is associated with Christian Concern and the Americans are using the situation to support pro-life agendas and oppose universal healthcare systems.

Like this, apparently;
Quote:
The legal team for Mr Evans told the court: ‘We do not challenge the medical report. It is another thing to say that your life is futile because your quality of life is not deemed sufficient.’

Quote:
Lord Justice McFarlane told him: ‘Your client purported to take out a private prosecution to have three named doctors charged with the criminal offence of conspiracy to murder. ‘Those summonses were served on the doctors and I hear you say that there is no hostility to the NHS.’

I would like some appreciation given to the Christian attitude of employers in letting people have all this time off work to protest outside the hospital.

My eldest daughter has reposted on FB one of these 'Support Alfie' crap meme things that are doing the rounds. Evil or Very Mad

I phoned her up and asked why and she said it's murder. When I asked how it's murder she said turning the machines off will kill him. I said no, turning the machines off will mean they are not still keeping him alive which is different.

She didn't (want to) get it.

My understanding is that they have turned off the machine that goes PING.

He's still alive though because he's a fiter, plus Allan hates him and doesn't want him flopping around in heaven.

At this point I do agree that they should put him in a doggie bag and hand him over to his parents, purely on the basis that he'll be blocking a bed in Italy rather than here.

Oh. Nevermind then. Can absolutely guarantee her "occupation" on The Facebooks is "full time yummy mummy, innits"

"Alfies Army" Good fucking grief. I'd have the lot of them shot, or at very least sterilised before they get a chance to further pollute the gene pool with their idiocy.

Stuff the kid in a potato sack where he belongs, give him to the parents and their "private jet" and see how long he lasts without that medical treatment theyre so adamant he doesnt need.

Chav father said: "Alfie doesn't need intensive care any more. Alfie is lying on the bed with one litre of oxygen going into his lungs and the rest is him. "Some people say it's a miracle, it's not a miracle, it's a misdiagnosis."

It's that last bit I have a problem with. Like the other cases I have no issue with them handing over potato baby to the potato parents, I have a problem with a hospital keeping a brain dead baby (or anyone) alive, and this perception that the evil doctors want to kill their kid.

So he's doing everything to keep himself alive... Apart from providing the oxygen, which keeps him alive? Rolling Eyes

This agonized father has smeared three doctors with his unethical rantery.
That prick will get over this and go on to father more sub-normals.
The Three doctors have to deal with an ethics committee that could harm their careers.
Not all doctors do the job for the cash.
Most of those I know do it because the love the job theu do helping folk.
They do not really get paid too much anyway.

Let's protest aboit our football teams not able to secure a European Cup winners cup or a world cup. 😠

Even the Pope's hospital recognised there would be no cure because brain scans showed "catastrophic degradation of his brain tissue". The Italians were only offering palliative care which is what he'd been getting at Alder Hey, but Alfie's Army seemed to think he could be treated and even cured. Sadness all round, but oh, the ignorance!

I think the difference was that AH didn't want to put the PEG tube in.
