Yes, sorry, I meant the controller ports, which are the same, both on the NES and SNES mini.

They are continuing to make them so won't be as rare as the mini NES. eBay it now if prices are high and buy one later.

Bit of a stupid question, how do the graphics hold up? I dug out the Amiga (500) recently, some games were still great to play (Dynablaster, SWIV), others I remember being awesome were spectacularly shit. Oddly the soundtracks were way more nostalgic, there were games I didn't even remember until the music started.

Got mine, happy with it.

Was playing Mario Kart with a friend yesterday as we used to love it.

Forgot how much of a cheating bitch princess is with her unlimited mushrooms!

Managed to get gold on 50 and 100 cc on all apart from the special cup, cant even do the first track without wanting to smash the cunting thing up.

So just like the good old days lol Laughing

Mario World is still great Smile

I'm sure everyone has moved onto pogs or yoyos but I got one Dance! £65 off Amazon. I don't remember being this bad at Street Fighter, Mario Kart's still good as long as you squint to make up for the graphics.

Anyone used Hackchi2 and what games have you added?

I have used Hackchi2, it's very good and easy to use. I added all the Final Fantasys and the mario games not on there already. I also added 'The Firemen' It's a pretty fun game its a top down shooter with the baddies being fire and you having a hose as a gun Laughing .

Fallen down the rom rabbit hole Smile Read somewhere you should stick to US roms?

Edit: they all seem to work fine, at least everyone I tried tonight did. Got an error message for a couple of roms saying they wouldn't work, and did I want to install another emulator, clicked no and they still worked Confused

Anyhoo donated to the guy for making my Friday night slightly more enjoyable Smile Best roms are the Bomberman games (which get progressively weirder) and Earthworm Jim. Jungle Strike seemed alright (had that on the Gameboy*), and there's a half-decent Worms port. The Paperboy 2 music's a lot worse than I remember Neutral

*on the subject of Gameboy, would Super Gameboy work or is that like an emulator in an emulator?

So Sega are joining the party with the Mega Drive mini: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/04/16/sega_to_bring_back_1988/

Although apparently it's being handled by ATgames who already have a Megadrive offerings.

The Atgames one is already out. Apparently it drops frames all over the shop and the audio is terrible.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yeah they have a few AFAIK. This one:
https://regmedia.co.uk/2011/03/31/megadrive_1.jpg

Then they released one resembling the original console:

And they had a portable offering.

I have the latest AT Games one, It's not great. The Mini NES/SNES are MUCH better built. However what is good is you can use original games/controllers. You can hack them It's a little harder as you need to take it apart, the games play OK but have hardlocked on me a few times.

Anyone got a Playstation classic? Apparently those who have already modded their systems (it's early days) are experiencing issues with various Playstation games.

I was contemplating getting one if it was a lot more powerful than the Snes mini but it doesn't sound like it is?

If you're going to steal the game ROMS, why bother with the official console, when there is RetroPie and crap loads of emulators for Linux/Win/Mac, ... even Android and the original PSP plays PSX games as well?

Plug in a PS3/4 controller, enjoy OR get the original controller USB replica for next to nothing. Note, all the PSX games are very playable on a Xbox 360/One controllers as well.

Not to even mention that anything will have much better performance and features (audio/video improvements)
