What utter utter PC crap. Ladies and Gentlemen covers every single person on the planet. It's a polite and respectful way to attract peoples attention.

Can you imagine at one of Queenies Royal dinners... ' My Lords and everyone else, please stand for........'

If you are a Lezzy, you are still a lady, a butch one possibly, but still a lady. And a pooftah is still a gentleman, probably with the emphasis more on gentle than man, but still a gentleman.

Sadly this is not entirely true : !`ve worked for some of the London boroughs and local authorities .
They (the people in senior management) really believe in this stuff and it`s a culture within these organisations.
