Why? It ruins the scene!

I've just watched 'Paycheck' (Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman among others) - now, no doubt there was a lovely bit of product placement by the old BMW boys - a BMW keyfob playing a notable part in the film, together with a car park full of 3's, 5's and 7's - nicely done that the keyfob actually belonged to a bike a not a car - an R1150R.

Ben and Uma spend a few scenes trying to escape from everyone on the boxer - but instead of the good, solid, meaty "BRRRRAAAPBRRRAAPAPAPPAP" of the boxer twin as they razz all over the place, there's an overlaid soundtrack of a smallbore four . . .

Why bother? Are BMW not astonished by the blatant meddling with their product's image? Apparently not - check the link :-

Especially the quote in the box highlighting the film . . .

LOL Very Happy Good observation Ninja!

I think the Americans love the inline 4's too much, because they sound more like they're getting a hammering - as opposed to the bassy beat of a Boxer or a V-twin - hence more intense action, and more takings at the box office!

You can tell because they managed to invent a 4 cylinder RSV Mille for the trailer for Torque. And I'm sure they got the boffins in to bodge together a inline-four 916 for an earlier film (Biker Boys?)

Clearly paying far too much attention. Its time you got with the program though Ninja. Most sounds are overlayed in films, the most common mistake its making tyres squeal on loose surfaces (dusty, sandy etc).

George Shuttleworths ( Slagdykes racing team) "Shuttleworth Snap" in the film "No Limits" sounds far better

Is "No Limits" the best biking film we ask?
