|
|
I have 2 issues on my credit score currently which have taken my score down to 177... considering ive always had over 450 and these 2 have impacted it so much its pissing annoying...
Default from BT
HSBC seriously in arrears (£54)
BT: they put prices up and removed stuff from package so i canceled within the time period, during the chat they agreed it wouldn't cost me anything to cancel, 6 months later got a debt collection letter demanding £185, called collectors and explained it and they stopped chasing, called bt and explained it but they didn't want to know... 3 more debt collector companies same story and bt didnt care. year later i have a default.
HSBC: did an account switchover and i got a letter (somewhere) from hsbc and one from nationwide confirming the switch was complete and account was closed, went on my merry way until i saw on my credit score one about hsbc... low and behold my account hadnt been closed and it had gone overdrawn somehow and they had been adding interest charges for months.
BT resolved: called bt recently as i get declined credit everywhere now, explained to the guy and he came back 15 minutes later saying it was clearly a mistake on their side and fixed it, he said he would raise a complaint about the credit score thing but that was 3 months ago and its still on there.
HSBC: called and was told it shouldnt have happened as my account is unusable just not closed... so he said he would clear the account and close it then talk to someone about credit score, a month later letter demanding £11... he didnt remove all the debt and account was still open gaining interest on the debt... called back and was told it will be cleared and my account is now closed... checked today, credit mark still there, account still open and still £11 in debt...
hsbc im guessing i have to fight with more to get them to remove the £11 but with bt and i imagine hsbc after they clear the debt... how can i go about having it removed off my credit score, is there a special department at these companies i need to talk to? ____________________ Fin: no matter how much I look at It I can't understand what was going through my head, all I remember is going about 80 and redlining it to stop it seizing.

Sign up to the moneysavingexpert.com credit club, on your credit score you can lodge a disagreement with a credit score and explain why you disagree. Experian will then chase it to resolve the problem, I had an ongoing issue with NPower for over a year yet Experian got it dealt with in a week and a half. ____________________ own: 81 xs1100g...

Lol, mines low for some reason. I personally don't care but silly issues like "your credit card is near its limit/high usage" ... check card, used £400, limit £8000.... riiiiiiiiight
They seem to be quite aids.. perhaps I should prod them. |

Put it this way, would you want to give a loan to someone who's had a payday loan or has tried applying for one?
As to what lenders see on your credit report:
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cardsloans/article-3073267/What-credit-report-says-check-it.html
If Lloyds Bank don't want to lend to people who've already got a loan with TSB then that's up to them. All lenders have their own criteria and scoring for what they consider good and what they consider bad.
Noddle has a separate section for short term loans which makes sense since they're very different to "just a loan".
Getting quotes from lots of lenders is bad, whether it's as bad as having had a payday loan is up to the individual lenders to decide. |

Payday loans are 1 step up from 'Friendly Fred' and his team of baseball fans.
If you can't manage your finances month by month you aren't going to get a loan. If you have a bank account, unless you have been a complete spazz you will be able to have an arranged overdraft for those tight situations which doesn't show up on on a credit check.
If you are so desperate you need Wonga and co. and their 1500% you are fucked. Give up and top yourself (just joking PC people) ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

That's a nice example of how meaningless credit scores are. |
