GSXR 1000 K6

I normally use the bike every day with no issue.

Last month I serviced it including 4 new plugs and it was running fine afterwards.

Then last week, I hadn't used the bike for 5 days and it sounded a little weak starting up. This has improved with a return to daily use, but there sounds like a scratching noise while under the ignition button.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the battery is not holding / storing charge for more than a day or two.

I tried removing the battery to put it on charge but the alarm went mental at me. It took a while but I found the necessary procedure to do it.

So I'm all fine for changing the battery should I need to, but my concern is the scratching type noise while under the starter button. Could this be a blown coil on the stator rotor, or does that not move?

It`s a direct feed to the starter motor from the battery, if the battery is low it will click/ratchet the starter relay switch.

Thumbs Up

Is Motobatt still the battery of choice these days?

Last time I replaced a bike battery that's the one everyone on here recommended.
