Why would your fork springs affect oil leaking out of the forks? Are you sure you don't mean fork seals? If you're having the fork seals done, then get the bushes done at the same time.

We ought to start a 'workshop' section for questions like this. Wink

Oil in the forks slows or damps the action of the forks down, so if seals fail resulting in leakage of oil the forks will bottom out

If you do your springs, then you may as well do the seals at the same time.

As part of this work, the oil will be renewed as well and that's basically an entire fork rebuild.

I must say though, I've never heard of fork springs wearing.

My guess would be you just need to do seals and oil.

Negative. That would mean the oil is providing the suspension action (which it isn't). It's the springs. The oil just prevents the springs from rebounding like, well, a spring.

No the oil is not providing suspension.
The oil works in compression and rebound, slowing the action of the legs down
