Bet he still has to buy his gear on credit though.

No TV licence, then?

I can't stand the cunt either. Seems to be a view shared by many too.

Is he well known for whingeing, then?
Or just liking the sound of his own voice?

I'm not bothered about what he's paid as such. It's just the fact that he's paid 5 times as much as the highest-paid female, which seems a little, ermmmm, ... unexpected ... in this day and age - and I'm hardly the shouty feminist type, either.

This is why I stopped listening to Radio 2 until after 9.30 am, or watching Top Gear.

Because he demanded that and got it.

It's up to the fragile wimminfolk to do the same, not for the BBC to offer them more money, unasked, using our TV tax.

Which is what I imagine is going to happen now that it's out in the open, rather than the intended result of driving salaries down.

The option being considered at the moment Roger is to give men a pay cut in the name of equality Laughing

1.9x more males commit suicide compared with females.

If you want equality, ladies, you know what to do.

Reported, and you can't "give" someone on a negotiated salary a pay cut.

I'd be all for it if it resulted in a reduction of my TV tax (that Mrs Borg insists on paying from her pin money), but since it won't, I find it hard to care whether Al Beeb has more overpaid cis white penises than gay efnic vaginas.

Quickest solution would be for Evans and Norton to self-identify as Elbonian women, right?

Evans doesn't need the money and he doesn't need to work either.
Some dimwit at the BBC decided they wanted him and he told them what the price would be.
The BBC agreed, so 'good for him'...

Personally I think it shows how useless the BBC bosses are, as I'm much less likely to watch or listen to anything involving him and I think I'm in the majority on this (for a change!) ...

The only one on that BBC rich list I have time for is Fiona Bruce.

Intelligent, articulate, multi lingual and something I'd like to wake up next too Wub

The complete opposite of Chris Evans.

The justification for the high salaries is that they attract audiences to the BBC. Can't actually think of female presenters, Claudia what's her face although I'm not actually sure what she does.

Oh that Rolling Eyes Very Happy Is it Claudia Winkleman presents... or do people tune in for the show? I was surprised Huw Edwards got so much for reading the sodding news.

If you negotiate a higher salary, then fair play. Companies won't pay you more than you're worth. They'd just replace you. If you think you're underpaid, negotiate or leave for somewhere else that will pay you. If nowhere else wants to pay you, then you're probably not as valuable as you think you are.

Guardian ran an article, seems to have dropped off (funny that), Labours pay ratio manifesto commitment for public sector pay would cap salaries at 20 times lowest salary so approx £500,000 max for 'talent' hence I expect we will be seeing all 'talent' moving to BBC commercial where public sector salary cap would not apply.

Interesting thing was highlighted at work as to the gender pay gap newer employees. When men are offered a job the vast majority try to negotiate a higher than offered starting salary, women tend to accept the offered salary.
