Sister's phone died, she put it on the charge one night, in the morning it wouldn't turn on etc. No phone shop would touch it as the rear glass has a crack (they said it would shatter), just got it off without breaking it Rolling Eyes

Anyhoo the battery's showing 2.6v (says 3.85v on the battery). Found something online saying it should be 3v minimum. Just wondering if it's worth changing the battery (guess it can't hurt to try) and if anyone had a replacement recommendation?
Would rather not have it explode in her face.

This is why I hate phones with sealed in batteries. The best answer tbh is Galaxy S5 Neo or LG G5.

Shall we be getting a full tutorial of how it is done when it happens to somebody else and how not to burn your fingers off.

Yep, this is a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZk0sCauius I didn't need to use the heat gun on the front (seems a bit risky) or use a suction cup to separate the mid frame/front though.

Ordered a genuine used battery from a seller on eBay, hopefully it'll work and avoid any potential house fires. If it doesn't I might try a chinky clone before admitting defeat.

Hmm installed the 'new' battery, no lights to indicate the phone's charging but it's getting warm (house fire imminent).
