Our biology teacher was an Oxford-doctorate Lord who got to bring his dog to school because rules only apply to proles.

He also liked to take eager young lads out for biology field studies, including camp-outs where he engaged in genital contact with them *NOT a euphemism*.

Last we heard of him, he'd been invited by Her Majesty to do a stint in Barlinnie prison, where he apparently fell down the stairs fairly regularly.

PE.

Rather than teaching correct form for weights, or running, or how to buy the correct shoes, or anything else useful, it was generally a way of giving the idiots a chance to do something they were good at and the overwight kids their two hours a week of forced exercise by playing a rudimentary version of an unpopular game.

Oh and people always moan about "schools should teach people how to manage money and how loans work"

They do, it's called mathematics and it's a compulsory core class. Credit in this country has nothing to do with schools not teaching compound interest, it has to do with not listening as kids and subsequently being greedy as adults when they realise 3 GCSEs wont buy you an M3.

ICT. Quickly learned that school IT admins get paid fuck all because they are shit. Managed to get a doom II server running by copying the files using the command line.

A lot of the 'useless' shit you learn in school I've actually used. I use algebra daily. Find myself using stuff I learnt in chemistry fairly regularly, especially around the house, even applied it to motorcycle mechanics.

How to negotiate the social complexities of teenage culture, especially in a brain drained scummy town.

Just as you crack it, after years of painful trial and error, you are flung out to the adult world.

All I learned at school,
was how to bend not break the rules...

Oh wait..that's a song lyric.

And actually quite useful.

Node Networking. Even the maths teacher couldn't tell me what it was for.

Mind you, it was my maths teacher who taught me there are three kinds of people in the world; those that understand maths, and those that don't.

Which explains my bank balance somewhat.

Confused with the thread resurrection... Sad

I was expecting a link to something, my money being on an essay writing service.

Yeah, they've started posting something vaguely on-topic, waiting a bit, then going back and editing it. One way to get round anti-spam bots I suppose...
