I use openshot.

Not without bugs and perhaps isn't absolutely all singing/all dancing but it's open source so there's no reason not to give it a try.

Quik by GoPro, pretty much does it all by itself. I use the phone app as mostly are short holiday videos to share with those involved via whatsapp.

I used Lightworks for a personal project- it was apparently used for a few big-budget films. The UI is terrible though, takes some getting used to and googling...

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector 14, basic editing is much faster than GoPro Studio.

I have been looking at CyberLink PowerDirector- I have bought it for a specific task I wanted to achieve- yet have seen it offers much, much more. Are there any youtube/other tutorials you would recommend?

I have been using Adobe Premiere Pro- which is prohibitively expensive(my work has bought it).
Its great, but does take a lot of brain matter to fathom...something I don't have too much of!
the results are excellent as one would expect from an industry leading piece of kit though...but its overkill for youtube vids

Recently changed from using Windows Movie maker to Cyberlink PowerDirector 14 and glad I did, much quicker but not scary to pick up.

I just search on YouTube. There is one channel called PD University , the guy is annoying but the instructions are clear and it works well.

PremierPro for me. Once you figure out the basics, it's not too bad. Learning curve is steep though. I also use AvidMux if it's just a quick trim that's needed of a small file.
