does the search function work?

I started a thread on goodyear tyres relatively recently, and wanted to find it. I clicked "Search BCF", entered Goodyear as a search term, clicked "random banter" from the drop down list on "forum" (because I knew this was the forum in which I started the thread), and then hit "search".

None of the results were my thread - which I subsequently found on page two of the Random Banter forum. It's called "anyone else got Goodyear EfficentGrip tyres on their car?"

I can't suss out what I did wrong i.e. why the search function didn't show my thread in the results list. I'm probably doing something fundamentally wrong but I can't suss out what.

Forum search functions are often rubbish. Google search "bike chat forums goodyear" and your thread is top of the list. It's amazing how powerful Google searches are when you consider they're scanning the biggest library in the world.
