I really don't want to say this on here, but I need to ask a question about textiles and maybe sewing.
I have a leather tool bag with an ironed on printed logo or transfer. Its peeling off slightly at the edges of some of the individual letters.
As the bag is nearly new and just what I want size/colour wise and the lettering is still in good condition otherwise, is there anything clear and sticky I can put over the top?
I'm thinking more along the lines of clear adhesive film/sheet or vinyl etc, maybe even a plastic sheet like you use for laminating things.
So is there anything like this that will permanently stick to leather and not peel or yellow and look shit after 2weeks?
One thought I had if there's nothing stick on suitable, could I sew on a plastic film over the lettering, and how would you do this? I.e does it need someone that has a sewing machine and knows how to use it? |

Think I'll pass on that, if it's all the same to you. Historically, this country was built by the Royal Navy, who's ships kept open the trade routes throughout the then known world. Those sailors were not only required, in Nelsons time, to "Hand, reef and steer" a ship, they were also expected to make their own uniforms from lengths of cloth........never mind the amount of needlework required to maintain a full set of sails.
I see sewing as another technology, practised throughout the ages, that has helped us as a species, progress.
I view the use of any materials, modern or old, as a skill.
If that skill is valued or not,I leave to your judgement, but as for skills having a gender, or sexuality bias? |

Sewing is female black magic, hence why I could never do it. Much like multi-tasking, the female art of feckin up several things at once. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I learned to sew (among other things) in the Army cadets. If Mrs grr needs a repair to any of her stuff, I do it.
She's not the most homely woman in the world, but that's how I like her. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
