Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but I'd like to pick your collective brains for a new biking product. I'm developing an inflatable under-jacket/tabard, which allows for adjustable insulation, suitable for those rides that start off warm, and get cold! It will pack down really small so it can be kept in the top-box/under the seat until needed.

But I need your help to iron out a few requirements/features; to that end, please would you spend 20 seconds to fill in this *very short* survey?

As a 'thank you', everyone who completes the survey will be entered into the draw to win one.

Thanks so much in advance,
Tony.

[Apologies if this breaks any forum rules - I tried to email Korn to ask first, but the email didn't work!!]

Inflatable? Sounds very non-breathable to me. I'll stick to a 3 layer approach.

Some thoughts:

Fat suit.
Punctures.
Breathable outerwear foiled by impervious inner balloon.
Heavier and bulkier than a spare t-shirt, plastic topcoat or thin Merino wool jumper.
Roadside blowjobs.
BlimpPal.

Good thoughts, Jimbo. To address your very valid concerns in turn:
Fat suit - it actually only takes 3 or 4 breaths to inflate sufficiently to provide an insulating layer; around an inch of air is optimal for insulation without encouraging convection heat loses.
Punctures - this product sits underneath your tough outer jacket, so the chance of punture is small; the material is also very tough.
Breathability - it's not breathable. But I tested a first prototype whilst climbing Conic Hill by Loch Lomond a few days ago, which it is not designed for (it's ideal for sedentary outdoor activities/inactivities). It got too hot to wear halfway up, but I needed it again at the summit. It wasn't unduly sweaty, and I was the only warm person in our group.
Size - it packs smaller and lighter than a T-shirt.
Blowjobs - I got nothing; all power to you.
