A bit cynical but true, and part of business economics is:
If something is selling very well or much better than expected, then raise the price, as the market will probably stand it, if the product is seen as worth having or the best in class etc.
Also if you can sell way more bikes than you can make, or have a limited production run of say 1000 bikes, but theres orders or would be orders for 2000, then again you can sell for more than your initial retail price set, as people will compete to be one of the lucky 1000 etc.
Sure exchange rates, manufacturing costs, materials costs, and legislation regulations affect prices,as does changes in suppliers and the brand and spec of the std equipment between different years.
But the above does go on quite alot too.
I'd say that trying to pick out and tie down all factors exactly for prices is like trying to agree on Gospel bhp figures, between quoted and true, as it's impossible for most to know except for people in the industry. |
