I've got a weird issue when printing from excel at work.

When printing anything from excel, every other page is rotated by 90 degrees.
If the document is set as portrait, then first page will be printed as portrait, but the second page is rotated and squeezed onto a landscape page. Third page will be portrait, fourth landscape etc etc.

- Affects all our XP machines running Office 2003
- Appeared after our XP machines were cut off from the network
- Persists through reboots
- Affects all tested documents, including those created years ago, and brand new files
- Only occurs on a specific printer - HP LaserJet 5200 PCL 6 (Network printer)
- Printing to other printers or PDF works fine
- Doesn't affect Word
- Windows 7 machines with Excel 2013 print fine to the affected printer

I'm thinking maybe drivers are stored on the network, which we no longer have access to..
Our XP machines were cut off from the internal network due to security issues, but there must still be some connectivity, as all printers on the network are still visible.

Confused Confused

Install as a new printer (with u0 to date driver not a generic driver) locally on to affected xp pcs and test.

Sounds like a driver issue.

Aside from PCs being on a network they've been disconnected from, have you tried the HP Universal driver?

I work for an engineering firm, and our CAD PDM (document management) system is locked to a specific server, which is held together with hopes, dreams and spiders webs..

For various reasons related to the PDM software, we cannot upgrade from Solidworks 2006.. So we (7 seats) are stuck using XP and SW2006, and hoping the server doesn't shit itself.

After years of timewasting, it looks like we are finally going to get a new PDM system next month.

Otherwise, thanks for the suggestions, I'll see where I get with switching drivers out.

I've just replied to a post regarding scart cables.

Now it's xp and 2003, wtf.

I've just spent last week looking at Windows 10 enterprise with the lack of Dell availability with sky lake processors.
