 |
|
I've had the speedo stop working on the 84 k100rs I've checked the speedo cable and it's all secure; also cleaned off the pickup and still nothing. Iv'e got a feeling it's the actual board inside; which I do have spares of however they are locked away at the moment in storage.
So was wondering if anyone has managed to use a pushbike speedo before attached up front. I'd use a mobile app for the speedometer however haven't set up my phone mount yet. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

I tried and failed, and wasted 20 quid.
Ended up strapping a satnav on the bars. |

I put one on the 350 when the speedo was playing up. Was accuratish up to 50 but I think there was vibration/electrical interference, since at idle it thought I was doing about 80

I have a cycle-computer on the MZ, the bike just did MOT with no problem.
Although my speedo shows only up to 69.9 km/h, then it goes from zero again. Which isn't really an issue as the top speed of the motorcycle is barely 100 km/h anyway and I mostly just keep up with the traffic rather than watch the clock. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Go for a wired one.
Yes; cheap one would start to show a half or a third speed, but still usable for that (ie if it showed 25mph and I was going faster than that but slower than 75mph, pretty obvious I was doing 50mph.)
Decent one was happy into triple digits on the zx9r (at Snetterton, officer ).
More accurate than normal bike speedos I'd say. |
