19 years (since 1998), but I am of an age where I should have been into late '70s/early '80s bikes. Instead they almost completely passed me by and I was only turned on to motorcycling around the turn of the century, "born again" era.

I did a 5-day training course in '98, never having ridden a motorcycle before. I imagined it would be a combination of driving and cycling. It was something quite different, I found. 1 day practice on a netball court and on road, 2nd day CBT, 3rd, 4th and 5th day on a 500 ('twas big and scary!) partly on London's North Circular. I failed the first Direct Access test so did a couple more days and passed 2nd time. I was still quite wobbly so I eschewed the desired 600cc sportsbike in favour of a lovely Yamaha XJR400 on which to learn more.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I've had an A2 Licence since February 2016. I've had a bike since last June.

1 years experience ftw. Even got 1 years no claims to prove it... yay me. Still the forum noob for a bit longer it seems.

Still, few more months and I'll have a proper big boys license, and then, firebusa is only one reckless purchase away...

I was going to mention that I've probably done the same amount of miles on big bikes as I did my tiddler (due to crashes and subsequent injuries). Should have stayed on L plates Rolling Eyes

On and off for 35 years since I was a kid messing about here and there.

Had a five year break, and then been riding fairly seriously non stop week in week out since Aug 2005, though if you search my early posts you'd see I was planning 150 odd miles ride on a 125 and thought it was a big deal Embarassed
