Currently beefing with the company I usually use (£100 item got damaged and they refused the claim), just wondering who people use and in particular what they've been like when they have had issues.

MyParcelDelivery seem similar to ParcelMonkey and appear to have decent reviews.

Edit: well on trustpilot, google reviews don't seem very good Thinking

ParcelMonkey were the people who refused to pay out (even though I'd bought extra insurance Rolling Eyes). Parcel2go don't seem to have very good reviews?

Are Parcelforce not expensive? I was thinking I could use DPD* directly, they normally come out cheapest and there's a drop-off point 10 mins away.

*they're shit but so are all couriers

DPD are widely regarded to be the best courier company in the UK.

I've never had any problem with them when ordering stuff online.

Tells you all you need to know about couriers Very Happy Had lots of stuff turn up late with them, they also damaged the item I mentioned earlier (box arrived with a big hole in it).

I usually use parcel2go / hermes because they're the cheapest but I've recently used parcelmonkey - parcelforce as I needed them to apply the label. So far it's average but pricey, more than the bike trousers I bought!

Im lazy so just take everything to the post office for sending. I do bloody hate it when anyone sends me anything couriered by anyone other than Royal mail/parcel force.

The reason is that their local depot is a mile from my house, and not having a car to use means I don't want to be going 10miles to fetch stuff I missed the delivery attempt for.

DPD Local for me.

Formally Interlink Express.

Cost is no concern if it's for things you're selling as you're not the one paying it. State clearly in your ad your postage & packing costs.

I normally end up undercharging for postage Rolling Eyes Just realised eBay charge a final value fee on postage as well. Money grabbing bastards.

don't use TNT at the moment, they've not been able to reliably track anything for about a month after having their system hacked and ransomed, still can't.

It's not too hard to figure out costs on your own though.

DPD have a fixed price for a parcel up to 15kgs at no longer then a meter.

For every kilo over that up to 30kg there's an extra charge.

Anything over 30kg in a single parcel is technically freight.

It's normally smaller stuff (via royal mail) I underestimate on. I know you can work it out beforehand but I CBA weighing and packing stuff, especially when I don't know if it's even going to sell.

No it isn't. Anything over 30kg is considered too heavy by H&S at various companies for a single person without trolley to lift.

Okay, over 30kg for a single parcel being shipped via DPD is classed as a freight service under their wordings. It's no longer a package suitable as a 'standard' parcel.

Simplest way around all of it is having a flat rate for shipping anything up to the 15kg mark.

It's then up to you if you want to refund the difference if it falls drastically below what you've charged.

DPD simply wrap it very well.

Royal Mail a lot though as they ship dangerous items*.

*gas canisters
*used internal engine parts etc.

Surprisingly I've never had any issues with MyHermes, although I know others have. Guess it depends on how trustworthy your local deliverer is

Never had a problem with Royal Mail, (should they even be called that now that they've been privatised? What , with our luverly queens head still on the stamps and all? Perhaps we should call it summat different, like"Consignia"....oh, hang on a minute...)

Yodel have had a right slagging off, but my local delivery lass has always been spot-on...
TNT and DHL are a bit ...meh, but I usually get my stuff in reasonable time.

Eg, ordered something from ebay, second class Royal Mail, arrives next morning.
Had stuff couriered by TNT, was apparently in transit for 2 days between depots less than sixty miles apart.
