hi

so ive been playing with audacity... I can record or upload a sound clip, and pick out sounds over a certain db level, and then send this to excel (so lets say a drummer hitting cymbals in a 2 minute clip, we only look for the timing of that set db level)

however I would like this live. so lets say I use the microphone and log any sounds over a certain db, and have the timing log onto a database (excel, or MySQL whatever works). lets say a 2 minute live recording, it would log the sound at the set db level for arguments sake at 10 seconds, then again at 15 seconds, then again at 30 seconds etc etc

is there a simple way to do this?

cheers

Can you explain why you want to do this? There might be a better method for achieving the overall objective.

Ah, yeah. I can hear (what sounds like) a ball. Kinda sounds like The Chemical Borthers playing at x1000.
