N00bs, I insisted her and her mother saw that together without my involvement. It was agreed in advance I probably would not enjoy it.

I like musicals. Phantom, Evita, Les Miserables etc, but only at the theatre.

I will give La La land a go when it's on the TV Embarassed

La La land? Ncap crash test stars? And you mentioned man points?

Are you sure you haven't developed an in-growing prick, that's disappeared up inside you?

Wait isn't there a name for that? I think it's called a Pussy? Wink

I never really got in to the whole musicals thing, The Wizard of Oz was massively over rated IMO, only movies I think I would watch until they wore out were little shop of horrors and the rocky horror picture show Embarassed

If someone asked me, Do You Like Musicals? Then I'd say "Nah, not really".

But when I think about what musicals I've seen that I like, then ... yeah, sure: I like the Sound of Music, the Wizard of Oz, Oliver, and Mary Poppins, and I love Rocky Horror, and (a really rare one) Phantom of the Paradise, a 70s rip-off of Phantom of the Opera. Les Mis was alright, I quite enjoyed that, I suppose. I especially love Grace Kelly in High Society, and I like all that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers stuff, and all those ladies with nose clips in the water doing star-bursts - but to me, its mostly about nostalgia.

So I wouldn't go out of my way to watch something like La La Land, unless it was on the screen in front of me.

Strange.. I'm a fan of musicals (no shame!) but my boyfriend made me watch this as he had heard such good things about it, and it won awards, and stuff...

I never had any desire to see it but thought "oh, alright then."

We both said it was rubbish by the end. It was a pile of nostalgia for the "good old days" of Hollywood with very "pat our backs, look how good it is" content all based off the actual good stuff from dozens of years ago when technicolour was first making it's appearance.

... Such a shame. It was nothing new, and had a horrid ending.

Would not recommend. And this is coming from a female who, supposedly, should be "absolutely in love with this classic in the making". Sick

Counter-proposal: Oh, I thought you'd like it, you like it in the front hole.

Films with musical elements are good, O Brother, Where Art Thou for example. La la land where they jump out their cars and break out into a full song and dance... nah.

Nah, he's just a wally.
A BCF wally.
There's been plenty of those over the years.

He's just one of the latest in a long line Laughing
Nowt special.

Going by the descriptions, we've probably all been those things at some point in our lives. He's just making a point of being all of them all at once for a bit Laughing

He's just like one of those boys who writes "Poo" with their own poo on the walls of primary school toilets.

We've had worse.
In fact, at times he's downright amusing.
But don't tell him I said so Laughing
