Progress picture - week 2:

https://i.imgur.com/fqUGAGN.jpg

Still plenty of growing room in there!

We had a bad night on Friday night, a combination of a stressful week and tiredness, and the dog acting up, led to us having a very brief 'oh shit what have we done' moment.

Went to bed - good sleeps all round led to us having a cracking weekend with Boomer. He now sits and stays properly. He gives his paw, and I've taught him how to navigate the stairs - so no more getting stuck and barking!

Had his second injections today, so 5-7 days time we can start walkies. Roll on Friday! Little guy has a lot of energy to burn off Smile

Trying to upload a video of him sitting and giving paw but imgur doesnt seem to like it?

Thanks mate Smile Boomer is doing really well, we're allowed to walk him now! He's very good on the lead, we're so happy with him. He's also now 6kg - he was 5.15kg last Monday! At 11 weeks old he now has bigger feet than Jake hehe

Is Boomer a Lab?

I was told by a friend's neighbour that labs are lazy and not very smart.

My lab must have felt offended so chased their wee Yappafuck out their house and then ate the Yappafuck's dinner.

Lazy and not very smart. Aye right..

Gracie is back in training class tonight, what with our holidays and the instructors it's been a few weeks since she went.

Cant believe we've had Boomer almost 4 weeks now!! Crazy how time flies, and how quick they grow up. I'm loving taking him for his walks, sometimes he takes a bit of persuading but once out and about he loves sniffing and taking in all the new sights sounds and smells.

This mornings walk:

Thats the second unexpected part of dog ownership, I live in a semi rural spot and I was amazed at some of the lovely
places to walk there are right on my doorstep so to speak that I had no idea existed. I learned about many of their
whereabouts from other local dog walkers, who are often up for a doggy related natter. And if we are going for cute,
heres one of my 3and a half month old Grace with Bunny(RIP).

Get two, get two, get two!
They will love you for it!
We had one once, t'was a busy, clingy, needy affair and I was worried our little gal was falling into single child syndrome (for dogs obviously).
Already out for walks and such so not much more effort tbh...

So we got another and now they're the terrible two'some. Always up to shinannigans and storming around causing havoc but our original is a lot less clingy and doesn't follow us around like a lost puppy 24/7 anymore Smile

And take them places like below! They will love you even more so!

Watch this space.... After Gracies had her first (and last) season I'll be looking for another adventure doggo to be her pal.
Most likely a Pointer or a thoroughbred Doberman. As you say walking for miles everyday anyway so another one won't make
much difference. As long as it can keep up with the mile muncher I already have then we should be fine.

We were recommended by our trainer to let our girl have 2 seasons before having her done as it allows all of the growth plates to complete so she is less likely to have any joint issues later on

Little Boomer will probably go through a rebellious spell at some point during his adolescence. It may seem like
he's ignoring you completely. I hope he doesn't have a strong prey drive, Gracie does and there's no getting through
to her once theres something in her sights, she will and has charged headfirst through a barbed wire fence
(miraculously without serious injury) to get at a squirrel. I thought that she was going to attempt a launch through the
kitchen window yesterday when there was a cat in our front garden. The rest of the time she's a delight to handle, but ALL
her training goes South when she gets a visual lock on prey.

Yes, he will most definitely have a rebellious streak! He already sometimes totally ignores you - I'm putting it down to being a puppy but its also a Spinone trait.

We have a pet rabbit at home, which we have introduced him to. He does chase it, but hopefully once he gets older the novelty will wear off. We shall see!

At least now he's learning how to dog. He will come over and sit with you now, rather than want to bite you all the time Very Happy
