So you bought a new style of bike without trying it first? Good job ____________________ CBF 125 -> CB400SF -> GSX600F -> ZX6R (G1) -> GSXR1000 K4 -> ZX6R (B1H Stunt bike) -> VFR800 -> R1 5PW -> Sprint 1050 -> Fireblade 929 -> ZX10R C2H |

Van monkey who recovered my Enfield recently (snapped throttle cable, such unreliable) reckoned that he had an 1100 or 1150, but wouldn't touch the 1200s as most of the bikes he picks up are modern BMWs.
I can't get on with anything even as leany-forwards as a CBR600F. Sure, you can train your body to deal with it, but <lip-plate.jpg> ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I went from a 950sm to a Daytona 675, and for my commute the 675 is quicker (only because I can filter through a smaller gap), but I agree the riding position takes some getting used to.
there are some roads where I do wish I still had flat bars though, as I think they're easier particularly when the road gets single track and tighter corners. ____________________ "intelligent inattention is preferable to unintelligent tinkering"

My 67 year old neighbor rides a Ninja 250 with open exhaust, dragging his knees in every corner, later this year fitting a turbo on it. Age doesn't determine who we are and what we like to do.
When I asked him, why not to just get a bigger engine, he asked me where's the fun in that. The coolest pensioner I know. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Lets be honest, most young people on motorcycles in general are autistic virgins. Girls are rarely impressed with motorcycles. |

Two things to take away from this thread:
1.) In my day 25 year olds would just ride the bike they wanted and not care if it was uncomfortable or awkward. If they didn't want a sportsbike they wouldn't buy one.
2.) In my day 25 year olds wouldn't give in to peer pressure (at least not as obviously).
25 year olds these days are a pretty weak breed if this is a representative sample. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
