Have you ever considered that some folk actually want experience the feel of riding a 50s or earlier era bike, complete with all it's "character", without having to source a genuine article and either deal with a restoration to get it road worthy or pay a premium that makes the prospect of riding it on par with a Faberge egg?

You think it's an outdated bag of shit, but some people want to ride an outdated bag of shit, precisely because it's outdated and not a predictable, "it'll get me there 99.99% of time with zero problems" Honda commuter. Horses for courses.
