So, I decided to Go to Bali. Rolling Eyes Yes, I know, it was against your, my parents and most other peoples advice, but, I valued the relationship enough to try and give it a go. Knowing that if it failed, I will never be able to look back and think, what if...

It was better than I expected, in that, I didn't get potatoed, or end up shackled in some dark hole, but life trajectory has been altered. Oh well, enough boring bawww nonsense for now.

Before I get back into what Mr AA has been up to and while I let the dust settle on what was somewhat of an eventful trip and work out what new direction to take my life now, I thought i would post a few bike related pictures. (Other pictures here)

Firstly, the amount of scooters and peds that where everywhere, was crazy. Especially in places like Ubud, Seminyak and Katu. This, plus the seemingly lack of rules of the road, was interesting to say the least.

They also had rather novel methods of obtaining fuel.

It wasent until Ubud, that actually had the bottle to get on a bike myself. This was partly down to wanting to just give it ago for lawls, and also ease, as it was starting to get 'expensive' getting taxi to and from the main town. It was a Scoopy that was given to me. It worked out about £4 for 24 hours. Shocked

One thing that did become clear. There really is never an excuse for something not fitting on your bike. This is how I intend to arrive and 2018 BCFBBQ Laughing

I hope that despite the trajectory change you managed to have a bit of fun and see some cool things.

Looks like there was plenty of sunshine for you Smile

If the police mentality is anything like Thailand then most accidents will be deemed your fault, with you being a rich tourist.

Used to hire bikes in Thailand, but after hearing a few horror stories from mates who live there and other ex-pats i don't bother anymore.

Used to pay about £8 a day years back for a CBR600.Now its around £20 to £25.

Not done Bali, done about 2 years in Thailand over all the trips, plus Laos,Cambodia and Singapore.

Cambodia is great, not yet been ruined by mass tourism like Thailand has.Lovely people.

Nice pics mate. Thumbs Up

Thank you mate.

Yeah, I would say that Bali is, or very nearly is ruined by tourism. A few people i spoke to that have been there a few times over the years have said that in the past couple of years it has really changed, for the worse.

Tbh, in some parts, the actual infrastructure seems like its almost at breaking point. Shame, as there are beautiful parts, but what I imagine was a bit of a hidden gem to visit, is now just a tourist island.
