It never used to bug me, but now I really could do with knowing the time while I'm on my bike.

I wasn't sure if anything existed, but eBay came up with these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142349683506

Has anyone got one, or similar? Any good, or do they stop working when they get damp?

Buy a waterproof Casio for ten quid, fasten it around the handlebars, job jobbed.

Casio digital watch, shorten strap and put around bars/bar mount. Waterproof, reliable, lights up if needed,
will also have stopwatch function. Wink

Change from a tenner

Edit- bugger, beaten to the post while searching for a link. Laughing

The spacker (66 plate), the scooter and the departed ER6f (both 13 plate) all have clocks within the digital display
somewhere. All 3 have fuel gauges too. Maybe you're just buying older bikes?

My Brutale hase a lap timer (!) but no clock. It has a trip gauge that requires 3 5-second button presses to reset, and no fuel gauge!

The most common thing is figuring out whether it's safe to enter bus lanes or not.

I got one of these and cable tied it to the clutch cable, in such a way that it partly rests next to the speedo. It looks quite neat, doesn't seem to be affected by rain, and is still there a year later. Not sure how to change batteries in the watch though (a mate has a special thang for getting the backs off watches, however, so am hopeful it's possible). Also had to use blu tac around the inside of the soft plastic fob part to help keep the watch in. But yeah - 20 odd k miles later it's still where I fastened it, and telling the time. I think they can be had for less than a quid fifty some weeks too.

Probably ride slower as I won't be paranoid that I'm late!

Mines got a fuel light, which I find weird. But nothing more.

Saw one on a Maraurder at the local Tesco. It looked in place on that, but I suspect it'd stick out like a sore thumb on something sportier.

Mine is usually right for six months of the year and then an hour out until I can dig out the manual and work out how to change the time, again.

It's as intuitive as brain surgery Rolling Eyes

Your advice is to buy something at nearly twice the cost?

I have an ebay one like the OP is thinking of, but with a white face to match my speedo and tacho cos OCD.

Been there 18 months, survived a winter, on second battery which are pennies ebay. Little bit of grease on the rubber seal keeps moisture out.

Mine doesn't have a fuel tap!

I wouldn't class my thing as sporty, so it shouldn't look out of place.

Although the Casio watch is a few quid more, I bet it would last longer. But I am still swayed towards the type I linked to.

My advice is to buy something so ruggedly reliable and genuinely waterproof that it will likely outlive the bike it's mounted on. Unlike some chinese trash that won't even keep proper time.

Not sure if anyone noticed my link above, to a watch that's proved reliable for me, and costs less than two quid.
