My laptop is set up for left handed use. I am right handed btw, I just prefer the buttons reversed on my touch pad for preference.

However, when the laptop sleeps, upon waking it reverts back, and takes ages to sort itself out.

any ideas why, and any way to make it stop doing it?

Take the laptop apart, swap the buttons, problem solved. Razz

Make sure you have the specific up to date touchpad drivers for that laptop model, sometimes it will come with its own control panel, try set it there.

I can't remember exactly where the option is on win7 but see if the power to the mouse is turned off to save power.

It's either in power management or device management.

That might stop it resetting. If not, I may well have a bit of spare time to work out the registry entries to default it left handed.

It might be windows update 'updating' your out of date drivers and just resetting your customisations.

Happened to me with a soundcard. Windows update would install new drivers that kept causing a BSOD.
