Hmmm. You're bragging about breaking several laws and causing yourself permanent injury, but you don't think you're an idiot. You are possibly more stupid than I first thought.
The only lucky thing is that you didn't cause anyone else injury.
Hopefully next time you'll crash properly though. ____________________ '07 Honda CBF500 / '93 Vauxhall Astra (www.fb.com/2wdOffRoader) / '04 Vauxhall Movano

If it was the gearbox, that caused this, then I think there is a place for a law suit. You paid money to a professional to check your motorcycle, to make sure it was safe to ride, which it obviously wasn't.
Although, the stupidest thing was not wearing proper gear. There are people on this forum, that crashed their motorcycles in much higher speeds, just walking away with no injuries. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

120mph speed on Aprilia RS125 is obviously a Morphine-induced fantasy
From what you said something caused rear wheel lock up. There are a few things that could do that.
- engine seizure, pulling the clutch is an easy way of recovery from this.
- loose chain
- wheel bearing failure
- gearbox failure (rather uncommon, unless it's a new Yamaha R1)
Regular checks and good maintenance can prevent first three. ____________________ Current Bike: Yamaha XSR900 Previous bikes: Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja, Aprilia RS125 2-stroke |

Why do you think i am asking here what could have gone wrong with the motorcycle? |
You also said:
A friend of mine had his body scattered all over a road in a motorcycle accident a few years ago, so believe me i know what you are saying.
- Yet you find yourself in a situation, without proper gear, doing stupid stuff.
Well, when the motorcycle began to slide, i had about 15-20 seconds to think before i came off. I felt a immediate sense of "this is it, you are going to die" but i didn't feel scared.
- I'm not very certaint, but my ZX7R could do 0-200-0 (km/h) in 20 seconds. It's a heavy old Superbike with only about 122.00 HP.
I'm the perfect example of a adrenaline junkie. I enjoy the buzz of going so fast that you can feel it thump through your chest as you're accelerating. I've taken vehicles to much faster speeds than 100mph previously.
- Please elaborate.
I think the speed that i was riding at could have contributed to the crash, by putting added pressure on a already weak link on the motorcycle.
- A fairly modern R6 going 100 mph isn't really pushing the limits of the machine. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ
