|

Drift Stealth 2 took an arrow to the knee BB to the lens today. £20 for a replacement "kit", but I don't need all the other bollocks, just a new bit of clear glass or whatevs. Can pieces of clear glass or whatevs be ordered to size? I can probably pick out the pieces and measure it up. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Is the lens glass or perhaps acrylic/perspex?
Perspex is easy to turn a disc out of. What thickness & diameter you need? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

It's glass, and the remains disintegrated on disassembly. Fortunately it took all the impact and the inner lens / CCD is intact.
I've micrometered up the gaping hole and make it to be precisely 19.5mm, maybe.
Anyway, I've punted £1.90 on https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191187778475 to see where that gets me.
[UPDATE for posterity and the Googlenets]
19.5mm is just very slightly too large to fit totally flush into the lens cover. I'll try 19.0mm.
[UPDATE to the UPDATE]
Yup, 19.0mm is bang on. eBay "flat watch crystal 19mm", £1.50 and up. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
