I'd rather give a grand to charity. Never had an iphone, never will. If I should unexpectedly win one, I'd sell it on.
Besides, XI will be out next week with 0.11132% more visible screen and 10 minutes more battery life.

What I can't understand is how Apple can get away with charging $999 for the iPhone and £999 for it.

At current exchange rates you are looking at £756. Taking into account customs tariffs and distribution, you'd hope for a price closer to £800-850?

To be fair. For 'animated emojis', I'd hope for them to exchange some cat faeces for such a device. And I'd expect change.

They've done it for years, Apple TV was £99/$99 when it came out.

As long as people are soft enough to pay, Apple will carry on ripping them off.

You have to bow down to their marketing department though, they could sell pork sausages in Saudi Arabia if they stuck an Apple logo on them.

I've just read an article that says the reason the price is the same is because the US price is quoted excluding sales tax, whereas the U.K. price is including VAT. So not such a scandal, after all.

ah no... you have me misunderstood.

I'm an ex-apple fanboi :p

They've hipstered/grannified my beloved brand to death, to the point where I am now being forced over to the dark side against my will.

I'm just a pedantic sod.

Yet amusingly you'll see airheads walking down the street with these phones almost completely oblivious of their
surroundings and the fact that they are walking along with essentially £500 quid (man in pub prices) loosely held
in their hand. You can't really blame the yutes for nicking them, it must be like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm amazed
more of them aren't run over tbh.

New Hampshire - 0% sales tax: live free or die.

I look forward to Brexit, there'll be a lot more of this, and a lot fewer cheap deals to be had from the continent.

I'll only get one if it means I can't sync with any of my old apple products and I have to buy all my iTunes again.

Oh no wait, that's why I've never owned an apple product and hopefully never will. And Steve Jobs was a cnut. Bill Burr did a great bit on that. Thumbs Up
