Bumbling along on the commute to work when i'm asked to take quick evasive action. Luckily i'd had my morning smoke n coffee or i'd have been the meat in an Audi / lorry smackwich

I don't usually upload vidjeos and am certainly no vlogger (Cringy word) but thought this might show you just how quickly sh1t can get real.

https://youtu.be/ObzXUveVMD8

Drivers in Swindon and down the M4 are genuinely considerate. Every day i ride, there are more cars that move over to let me filter past than cars that don't.

Edit: video defaults to 480p. Turn to 1080 for slightly less potato vision

Aye. I was keeping my eye on him. I sped up after he got past the turning for the slip road and cancelled his indicator, thinking he was going into the left lane. I was mistaken.

At least he did indicate but that was a very late lightning lane change not surprised you thought going straight on.

Good decision to accelerate rather than brake.

Good job with that swerve Thumbs Up .

After watching it a few times I think I would have read the audi the same you did just by the signal cancelling and the fact that he does move over to the right just before cutting sharply left onto your path.

Good job with the swerve and accelerating rather than throwing the anchor down in panic. I tend to assume people are going to do the stupidest thing possible, so would have been cautions of that indicator. Especially after old man pulled out despite looking at me.

Assume everyone is out to kill you/not seen you.

Typical Audi twat!

Nice riding to get out of that Thumbs Up

Had one nearly take me out in the car earlier doing a last minute lane swerve without looking.

You can always read things differently in hindsight.

I probably would have been toast though, my reactions aren't that quick!

Nice reactions there, guess he was braking to avoid the hgv rather than you tho....probably didn't know you were there considering how quickly you passed the queue. Had a similar experience coming off the A1 recently, glad neither of us made the spill counter tick!

I think he was. Don't think he could see the hgv indicator and they have a habit of going straight over from that lane. It's the reason I hung back initially before seeing audi guys indicator. He had no idea I was there..

Not excusing the driver but it looked like they mis read a satnav to me and got confused which exit they wanted.

I can't tell you how many vehicles, including HGVs, have turned left from lane 2 on me at that junction. I pretty much expect it now. My guess is they knew they were in the wrong lane but wanted to go left, knew there was a chance that the truck could legitimately be going straight on, thought it might be so aborted to go straight on, then realised last minute the truck was actually going left so dived off as originally planned.

Yep, nice reactions and decision.
Although slowing would have certainly given you the opportunity to ride past a few seconds later allowing you to remove a mirror. Thumbs Up

FTFY. Glass alone £250 if its photochromic like the mirrors on my last Audi were.

This. Trucks will go straight over from lane 1 more often than not (which is allowed) I spotted the trucks indicator so figured it was safe for me to do so. I don't think the Audiwanker saw the trucks indicator so decided he'd no take his chance. You can see from the video, the moment the truck is seen to be going down the slip road Mr Audi takes his chance.

I actually think the Audi was waiting for the car to clear lane 1, then made the move.

ive watched it like 50 times... that was fucking amazing reactions.. sort of.. probably

obviously the camera lies and we cannot tell your speed how fast or slow you approached and all other things relevant but id have hung back when that left indicator come on, i see why you didnt as he was almost past the slip road so one would assume he wasn't going down it.

the reaction was good though, id have been potato mostly because i go everywhere in 6th gear so id have chugged alongside attempting to accelerate through it and got shrekt
